2011 Horse-A-Rama Theme:  To Be Announced

Contest Rules:
Contestants must present photo entries to the Photo Contest area in the Exhibition Building before 10 a.m. on Saturday. Photo entries and fees may also be brought to the Photo Contest area on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. No entries will be accepted once the judging begins.

Photo entries must remain on display until 3 p.m. on Sunday, and contestants may check them out after that time. Contestants removing their entries before the checkout time will forfeit their prizes and will not be accepted in the Photo Contest for next year’s Horse-A-Rama.

Amateur and Adult Categories and Rules:

  • Still Life
  • Action
  • Digital (this means altered on a computer, it does not mean cropped. Photoshoped or software to enhance or alter a photo)All entries must include a live equine.

Entry fee for Amateur and Adult categories are $5.00 per photo. The minimum photo size is 3-1/2 x 5 inches. There is no maximum size limit.

All entries must be matted, framed, and ready to hang. We encourage professional photographers to include a business card with their entries; business cards may be displayed after the judging. All contestants must put their names, addresses, and phone numbers on the back of their entries.

Contestants may enter only one division but may enter in more than one category. Photos previously submitted to the Horse-A-Rama Photo Contest are not eligible for this year’s contest. Awards will be presented in each category and division as well as Best of Show.

Youth Divisions: *** New Age Groups and Framing Rules ***

  • 12 and under
  • 13 – 18

All entries must be mounted on poster or foam board. 1 – 5×7 photo mounted on a 8 x 10 poster or foam board or an 8×10 picture on 11×14 poster or foam board. Photos must be ready to hang on arrival.  All contestants must put their names, addresses, and phone numbers on the back of their entries.Contestants may enter only one division but may enter more than one category. Limit is 10 photos per contestant. Photos previously submitted to the Horse-A-Rama Photo Contest are not eligible for this year’s contest. Awards will be presented in each category and division as well as Best of Show.
